However, this did not solve the external display issue so if anyone has an idea on how to fix that, I would appreciate the help! So I did that and it turns out, it was the touchscreen driver! The driver is back where it needs to be. I don't know if I just missed it, or if popped back up after another reset and using Driver Easy.Īnyway, I vaguely remembered something about drivers showing up as unknown in the past and to fix it, I just needed to uninstall the driver and restart the laptop. When nothing seemed to work, I went into Device Manager and noticed that there was an "unknown device" listed. I was messing around with display settings to get the external display to work.the laptop starts to send the display over to the external monitor, but then goes white. )Īfter doing another reset and buying and trying Driver Easy to see if it would fix the driver, I was ready to give up and just use this laptop with reduced capabilities until I could buy a new one, however, my laptop developed HDMI external display issues and in my search to repair that, I actually fixed the touchscreen and tablet mode issue. UPDATE: The touchscreen and tablet mode are back!! (but now I'm having HDMI external display issues. I tried "Driver Easy" to see if it could locate and download the driver, but it didn't have it either. I checked with Microsoft and they don't have it either. I've checked the downloads available for my model (SP315-51-37E7) on Acer's website and no touchscreen driver is listed. Windows 10 has been completely updated, I've restarted, and it's still not there. I did a clean installation of Windows 10, that didn't work either. I right-clicked to see if I could update/reinstall/repair the driver, however, those options were not available. I enabled "show hidden" and I saw it then. I checked Device Manager and didn't see it. I was using my Spin 3 (Acer SP315-51-37E7) in tablet mode a few days ago when all of a sudden, the touchscreen stopped working.
